The History of EIMA has started from humble beginnings. EIMA has experienced continued success and spiritual prosperity due to those who have stood up for Tradition (Parampara).

1990 - Began teaching in Queens, NY in a basement apartment with approx. 15-20 students, years later maintaining an institution of 300+ students.

IMPORTANT MILE STONES:

Year 1989 - Arrived from India after spending 5yrs attaining a MA in Hindustani Music from Delhi University Ravideen Ramsamooj (Founder/Managing Director). Bharati Ramsamooj (Principal/Hindi Teacher)  attained a Bachelors degree in Hindi from Agra University.

Year 1990 - First concert returning back from India at 2000 Carpet House in Chaguanas, Trinidad.

Year 1995 - First Sangeet Sabha at the Arya Spiritual Center featuring Ravideen and Bharati Ramsamooj  w/ students.

Year 1995 - Performance at MIT celebrating music from the subcontinent of India.

Year 1996 - Sangeet Sabha II featuring approx. 60 students performing indian classical, folk, and instrumental.

Year 1998 - Eima Inc. was established. Sangeet Sabha III featuring close to 100 students.

Year 2000 - Sangeet Sabha IV

Year 2002 - Sangeet Sabha V

Year 2003 - Sangeet Sabha VI

Year 2004 - Sangeet Sabha VII featuring 140+ students.

Year 2006 - New EIMA Facility.

Year 2007 - Performance @ Trinidad and Tobago Consulate.

Year 2008 - EIMA Production of "Aaj Ka Sandesh" TV Program.

Year 2009 - Historic Performance by Pt. Anindo Chatterjee - LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD

Year 2010 - The East Indian Music Academy Inc. becomes accredited with the University of Massachusetts.

Year 2013 - Ravideen Ramsamooj completes his doctorate in Indian Classical Music from Jaipur University, Rajasthan - India.

Year 2014 - The Return of Sangeet Sabha - October 11th, 2014 "Sangeet Sabha VIII"
